An early image of winemaking. From Louis Liger's La Nouvelle Maison Rustique: ou Économie générale de tous les biens de campagne. At the top of the image, 'Vandanges' sits within a cartouche, likely meaning 'vendange' - French for grape harvest. Louis Liger (1658–1717) was a French agronomist and prolific writer on flora and fauna. Condition: Worm holes to right edge of sheet, and some discolouration and staining to margins. |
