Notes An etching by Walter William Burgess depicting a church yard in the moonlight, the silhouette of a figure walks toward the left, a church in the background. Signed and inscribed in pencil with a line from Thomas Gray's "Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard."

Walter William Burgess (1855-1908) Etcher and architect. Exhibited at the leading London galleries from 1874, chiefly at the R.A Elected R.E 1883, his membership ceased 18th August 1908. Lived in London. He was called "The Pretty Burgess", which differentiated him from William Burgess, A.R.A, the great architect , who was "not Pretty".

Condition: Some glue residue on left margin edge.
