Printred on pink india laid paper.

William Crotch (1775 - 1847) was young music prodigy. He became Professor of Music, Oxford University, 1797-1805 and rector of the Royal Academy of Music from 1822. While at Oxford Crotch became aquainted with the drawing master John Malchair, and Crotch took sketching with Malchair as his teacher. They became a close friends with Crotch supporting Malchair in old age when forced to give up teaching on losing his sight (Williams, 1952, p. 91).
