Full-length portrait of Adelaide of Austria, set within an elaborately decorated interior. Adelaide of Austria (1822 - 1855) was the first wife of Victor Emmanuel II of Sardinia, future King of Italy, with whom she had eight children. From 1849, she was Queen of Sardinia, until her death during childbirth in 1855. Ex. Col House of Savoy Condition: Foxing to margins and some creasing, although image is in good condition. |
