Notes A fantastic aerial view of central Paris with the Palais de l'Industrie (Now replaced by the Grand Palais) in the foreground, the Place de la Concorde and the Louvre with the river Seine to the right. From Henri Charpentier's 'Paris dans sa splendeur' published in 1861. The work consisted of several volumes with descriptions of monuments, views and history of Paris, accompanied with drawings and lithographs.

Felix Benoist (1818 -1896) was a French painter, draftsman and printmaker of cities, monuments and landscapes.

Louis Jules Arnout (1814-1868) was a French painter and printmaker who was mostly active in Paris. His father was the French painter Jean-Baptiste Arnout.

Condition: Good impression with nice hand colour. Stain from old mount to margins and two pieces of hinging tape to left and right margins, not affecting image.
