Notes A Portrait of Leopold I of Belgium (1790-1865) when he was Prince of Saxe-Coburg (-Saalfeld, following the territorial swap just after his birth). He is shown with the decorations which he won for his bravery in the Napoleonic wars. He served in the Russian Army against Napoleon and rose to the rank of Lieutenant-General, a rank that is suggested by his military uniform, which could, underneath the medals, could be the uniform of a post-Napoleonic wars period Russian General.
