An atmospheric and lively scene set within Corpus Christi quad featuring two students caught in a rain shower.

Myra Kathleen Hughes (1877 - 1918) was an etcher of landscapes and architectural subjects, and was the daughter of Sir Frederic Hughes of Rosslare Fort, County Wexford. Hughes studied at the Westminster School under Mouat Loudan, and at the Royal College of Art under Frank Short and Constance Pott. She exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Hibernian Academy, Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, and the Paris Salon. Hughes worked in London, Dublin, Norway and Palestine. She lived in Hindhead in Surrey, and died on 21st August 1918.

W. H. Beynon & Co. was a British publishing firm active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Based in Cheltenham, the firm was best known for publishing folios of prints based on specific schools, colleges and universities.
