Jacques Grasset de Saint Sauveur (1757-1810) was a writer and diplomat. Born in Montreal, Canada he went to Paris in 1764 and studied with the Jesuits at St. Barbara. He eventually became a diplomat. He was vice-consul to Hungary and then Cairo. From 1784 until his death he devoted his time to writing and produced twenty books.
