Notes Plate 23 from '24 Views in Hindostan by William Orme'. This aquatint is based on a picture by Thomas Daniell (1749-1840) depicting a colonial mansion near Murshidabad known as Felicity Hall. The accompanying text says that '[t]his house was built by Mr. Anstruther upon a large barren plain, which is now fertilized and cultivated: the edifice gives a correct idea of the style and elegance of the European buildings in India.'
