John Hassell (1767-1825) was an Aquatinter, responsible for improvements to imitate 'pen, pencil and chalk drawings' for which he was awarded a silver medal of the Society of Arts. Daniel Havell (1786-1826) was a draughtsman, printmaker and publisher, brother of Robert with whom he often worked in partnership, and later worked for Ackermann. (BM)
