Notes A young lady wearing a cap and shawl sits behind a table with books placed upon it. This particular print is one of at least four versions of the image. Several earlier prints of the same, or similar, image name Richard Wilson as the artist of the original painting. The British Museum house two examples, both of which depict the girl facing in the opposite direction, and with the foreground composition differing slightly.
