Notes A plate from Joseph Roques Atlas des Champignons Comestibles et Vénéneux. In his book Rocque described different types of uses, how to distinguish between edible and poisonous mushrooms, including remedies for poisonous mushrooms and culinary preparation of edible mushrooms.

Joseph Roques (1772-1850) was a French botanist and physician. He studied at the University of Montpellier, as well as being associated with Faculty of Medicine. He later moved to Paris where he became an eminent botanist.
