William Monk (1863 -1937) was a painter and etcher of architectural subjects. He was born in Chester where he started his studies at the Albion House, before travelling to Belgium and study at the Antwerp Royal Academy of Art. Monk later moved to London, where he would live for the rest of his life, apart from travelling to Venice and New York.
