A charming early twentieth century souvenir postcard of the Americas, celebrating the Panama Canal as the 'Kiss of the Oceans.' Printed in Panama, the card has also been embossed, with the rivers, mountain ranges, and coasts of North and South America raised. Countries are picked out in different colours, principal cities are names, and on either side of the Isthmus, the Atlantic and Pacific are personified as female faces. In the bottom left corner, a list of statistics provide details about the Canal's construction and use. The verso, unused, features an eagle crest for Maduro's printing company.
Condition: Minor time toning to edges of card. Some minor chipping to corners.
