A map of the Baltic States, printed at the time of the Third Silesian War, from 'The Gentleman's Magazine: and Historical Chronicle.' The map encompasses Livonia and Courland (modern Estonia), Samogitia and Prussia (modern Latvia), Lithuania, most of Poland, and parts of Germany, as well as part of the south-eastern coast of Sweden on the other side of the Baltic. Regional borders and sea coasts are outlined in hand colour. A simple half compass in the Baltic points north, and a scale in English miles is included at the bottom left corner of the map.
Condition: Vertical and horizontal folds, as issued. Large repaired tear to middle right of map. Bottom right margin of sheet trimmed to border, as issued, now infilled.
