Joseph Frank Pimm (RBSA. b1900.) lived in Woodstock Road, Handsworth. After studying at the Birmingham School of Art (Margaret St.) he exhibited for many years including at the RA and became a member of the RBSA in 1960. He presented 12 etchings to Handwsworth Historical Society in 1968. He died aged 71 in 1972, requesting that after his death the printing plates for his work be destroyed. A memorial exhibition was held at the Graves Gallery, Lower Severn Street Birmingham. The guide states:

"He was a simple man in his appreciation of homely comforts and his complete disregard for conformity. Many people remember him riding his high sturdy bicycle around Birmingham."
