Ex. Col. Frank Emmanuel

Sir George Reid (1841-1913) was a painter of portraits and landscapes. Born 31 October 1841 in Aberdeen, brother of Archibald D. Reid. Studied in Edinburgh, Utrect, Paris and the Hague. Elected an asscociate member of the the Royal Scottish Academy in 1888 and a full member of the Royal Scottish Academy from 1877 and President of the R.S.A. 1891. He was knighted in 1891. He lived in Aberdeen and Oakhill, Somerset.
