Arna Miller is an American artist originally based in Denver, Colorado. She studied Environmental Design with an emphasis in Architecture at the University of Colorado. Arna continued to study art while doing her degree and when she lost her job at an architecture firm in the 2008 crash she took the opportunity to pursue her art career. Miller draws inspiration from vintage printed ephemera and Japanese packaging which she combines with a sense of humour and whimsy. Combining text and humorous narratives placing animal characters at the centre of scenes and scenarios she lables "Possible, but Not Likely," Arna invites the viewer to participate in the comical, magical, and surreal narrative. Miller's choice of limited and often muted colour pallets combined with hand screen printing reflect her interest and pays homage to the aesthetics and craftsmanship of early illustrated packing, posters, and books.
