Established in 2007, A Two Pipe Problem Letterpress, also known as Problem Press, is run by Stephen Kenny from The House Of Problems in Leyton, East London. Everything produced by A Two Pipe Problem Letterpress is designed and printed by hand, one at time on one of three letterpress machines.
Stephen Kenny was first inspired by letterpress in 2002, when he discovered a collection of Victorian posters in the book of a retired printer. Now, Kenny has his own studio and works full time as a letterpress designer and printer. He has also worked on various other projects, including book covers, record covers, and branding.
Working with old machines, and continuing a long standing tradition, Kenny is constantly reminded of the medium's history and charm. Wood type becomes damaged and worn, meaning that each block and print is unique.
