Notes A scarce separately published print on india laid paper of Boarstall Tower. The fourteenth century moated gatehouse was built by John de Haudlo, and once part of a fortified manor house. Print depicts the tower set within its grounds, surrounded by grazing sheep.

Nathaniel Whittock (1791-1860) was lithographer to the University of Oxford. He was born in Oxford but moved to London in 1828. His nephew, Henry Hyde, was also an engraver.

Condition:Time toning, surface dirst and some short tears at the bottom of the margins not affecting the image.
