Philip Gilbert Hamerton (September 10, 1834 – November 4, 1894), was an English artist and art critic and author. He was Art Critic to the Saturday Review, and his publications included Painter's Camp in the Highlands (1863), Etching and Etchers (1866), and he established his own art journal, The Portfolio in 1870.
