Notes William Allen was the most important printseller in late Georgian Dublin. Beginning in the 1770's he issued Irish views, portraits, copies of prints issued in London, the occasional map and later, satires. By 1827, the firm was known as M.H, & J.W. Allen, having occasionally been Allen & Sons. William Allen traded from No. 88 and later No. 32 Dame Street.
